More of the same, no reprieve. No restructuring. September’s ICBC announcement is already patently going to be a series of window dressings that do nothing to attack the root cause.
If ICBC or the current government had the energy and capacity to change, it would be changed. It’s time for a complete restructuring of the organization.
I advocate that we seek out that new structure through careful study and analyses of other insurance models.

Industry stakeholders must be engaged.
Before lighting ICBC on fire, do we have commitments to provide primary coverage to BC drivers? Once that is secured, a free market that allows competition is always going to give the consumer a better deal, a better product and more oversight through natural market self-regulation.
I would be delighted to debate this, but please be aware that I will not engage in the tired ‘blame game’. Today and tomorrow are what matters.
